Crete Day 1 - Cooking in the Mountains


We spent the afternoon in the hills about 30 kms east of Heraklion where Helen showed us how to prepare fried pork meatballs, lentil soup & some kind of cucumber yogurt dish, while Eric grilled pork ribs on the open fire. It was damp and quite cold (50), but we had good Cretan red wine to keep us warm! Frans played guitar, while I joined Valentina for a smoke (NOT!)

LOL What happens in Crete stays in Crete!!! Hey, are you two free for dinner? I have these absolutely incredible lamb ribs in the freezer from a VERY reliable source from Zaros who looks a bit like Santa Claus, and who better to cook for than you two? I promise to be a bit reserved with the salt, and to skip the yogurt! I miss you....
